Netanyahu attacks Iran in UN 'Speech of Silence'
Prime minister tells General Assembly that since nuclear deal, Iran has only increased support for Hezbollah, Assad and Hamas.
Netanyahu took to the podium at the United Nations General Assembly a day after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas accused Israel of being an occupying apartheid state, while threatening to cancel existing agreements with Israel.Netanyahu devoted the majority of his speech to addressing his concerns regarding the recent nuclear deal with Iran, mentioning the many security problems posed by Iran.
In his UN address, Abbas alleged that Israel violated all agreements that were part of the Oslo Accords, failing to withdraw from areas B and C (which comprise 60 percent of the West Bank), and as such the Palestinians would not remain the only side obligated to abide by their terms.
He placed the responsibility squarely on Israel to either take on all of its roles as an "occupier" of a "state under occupation", or allow the Palestinian Authority to be a transitional body until the establishment of a bona fide state.
